Hello, I’m Annaleise
I have a dream to explore the world and observe how different countries approach their everyday design challenges. During my visit to Croatia, I came across an interesting observation regarding their traffic lights. In Croatia, they incorporate a yellow light both before and after the green light, creating a sequence of green, yellow, red, yellow, green. On the other hand, in Canada, the traffic light sequence is green, red, yellow, green. I find this design difference intriguing and I am still trying to fully understand its purpose and rationale.
I design because…
The exhaustion of having to reject cookies every time I enter a website and going through the hilarious struggle of pulling on doors on doors that says “push” (looking at you, Norman doors), lights a fire within me to unravel the mysteries of usability.
These everyday frustrations motivate me to investigate route problems and take on the challenge of creating seamless solutions based on thorough research. This drive to improve user experience keeps me passionate about my work in the field of design.
